The YMCA of Cecil County hosts a wide variety of energizing & invigorating aerobic classes led by certified, knowledgeable instructors. YMCA Aerobics classes are for every level from beginning calisthenics & intermediate upper body workouts to advanced "boot camp-style" sessions.

Classes are held weekdays during morning &/or evening hours in our state-of-the-art and Aerobics Room with it's terrific shock-absorbing surface & mirrored walls for maximum instruction.  Read on for more information about the individual programs, then check out our seasonal "Aerobics Calendar" by clicking on the link below or in the left side menu.

 

PERSONAL TRAINING
Studies show that people achieve results 30%-70% faster with a qualified trainer. There are a variety of reasons that people use personal trainers and the number one reason is to get results. Our certified trainers can help you break through plateaus, maximize fat burn, develop lean muscles and promote strong bones and joints-building a body that will perform better and last longer. Let your desire for health and fitness finally become a reality.

Each month there will be a drawing to receive 4 FREE SESSIONS of Personal Training with one of our certified Personal Trainers. Look for one of the drawing boxes located in several areas in the YMCA. There will be a bio of the trainer for that month. The 4 sessions must be used in a 30 day period. 1 Entry per person. See drawing box for more details!

Starter Package:
4 Week package @ $35 per session.
 
Silver Package:
8 Week package @ $30 per session.
 
Gold Package:
12 Week package @ $25 per session
 
Premium Package:
24 Week package @ $20 per session.

Minimum of 2 sessions per week.

 
THE YOGA EXPERIENCE
 
The benefits of yoga also include improved flexibility, injury prevention, pain relief, improved balance, and the list goes on and on.
 

 Core Yoga:  A class that is designed to strengthen the core muscles and relieve tension and stress through breathing techniques, stretching, meditation and Yoga body postures. Rm. 19.

 Yoga for Relaxation:  Yoga for Relaxation is a drug free alternative to stress relief. The focus of every class is a core opening achieved by releasing tensions in the deepest layers of the body. You will feel the difference after just one class! Rm. 19.

 Yoga Fusion:  This class will challenge your body and your mind. Yoga Fusion will help develop strength, flexibility, balance, concentration and muscle tone, through a powerful and transformative practice of yoga. For beginners & continuing students.

 YOUTH & TEEN CIRCUIT
 
Youth & Teen Circuit Training (Ages 8-13):  Ms. Sue will lead this fun class in strength training, cardiovascular exercises, core work and flexibility. Ms. Sue worked with the camp kids this summer and has a variety of experience in teaching and working with this age group. Kids will have a blast and learn lots about exercise and nutrition. Bring a water bottle and a sweat towel.

S.H.R.E.D:  Stations, High intensity, Resistance, Endurance, Drive. This class is challenging enough for the advance but also simple enough for a beginner. A combination of calisthenics, military style drills and muscular conditioning that will provide an easy to follow yet challenging workout for any level of participant.

Ab Attack:  Need to tighten and firm your mid-section? Join us for a quick, but intense, session of deep abdominal exercises. Modifications will be made for beginners. (30 min.)

Step & Sculpt:  This fast moving class begins with 30 minutes of heart pounding step aerobics. We will then finish the class with 30 minutes of full-body-sculpting.

Body Blast:  Get up and get your body off to a strong start for the weekend. This is a full body workout that will “blast” calories and tone muscles with a mix of cardio and strength training for the upper and lower body.

Core Concepts:   A challenging core workout with an emphasis on muscular strength, endurance, alignment & balance, perfect for people who desire a serious core workout.

Women on Weights:  This 4-week program will help you feel more confident and comfortable in the free weight room. Lead by our certified Personal Trainer, this class is designed for a beginner or experienced women. This class will walk you through the proper workouts and help you learn proper usage of machines including technique, repetitions and weight.

Body by Sue:  A full body work out, by Sue, that will get your heart rate soaring and your muscles burning. As a 1st place Figure Fitness competitor, she will help you improve your endurance, strength, balance and health through a combination of cardio technique and full body strength training. Those other Pump classes have nothing on this one.

Strength & Conditioning:   Gym style workout that will strengthen and shape your entire body using proven strength training methods. Use of a variety of free weights, resistance bands and step to use as a weight bench. We'll also be doing various body weight exercises like push ups, dips and squats, etc. A challenge for all of your muscles. Class will end with a total body stretch.

Cardio Sculpt:  During this class you will have intervals of 3 minutes of strength training and 3 minutes of cardio training. The strength training will consist of free weights, bands, and body weight exercises. The cardio portions will consist of kickboxing, step, and athletic type drills. Giving you an entire body strength and heart pumping cardiovascular workout. Class finishes with ab work and stretching. Class is designed for all levels.

Zumba:  Fuses Latin rhythms and easy to follow moves to create a dynamic fitness program that will blow you away!

Pilates Fusion:  Fuse Pilates into your life. Combining Pilates, weight training, mat exercises, gliding disks, bands, balls and the magic circle to help develop deep core strength, flexibility, endurance, and coordination for optimal fitness. Breathing techniques are used throughout the exercises to ensure they are effective and efficient with stretches designed to create muscles that are stronger, longer and more toned. Modifications are shown for all fitness levels.

TRX Suspension Training
 
TRX is great for all fitness levels, health levels and ages. The beauty of this training style is that you are in complete control of the intensity. Suspension training is very simple and easy to master.

THE YMCA OFFERS RACQUETBALL!

BODY FAT MEASUREMENT

A great way to gauge progress is through "Body Fat Measurement". This scientific method allows you to evaluate your progress & adjust your routine accordingly!

FEE: $5 Non-Members, FREE for Members.

 
   

All programs have a minimum enrollment and registration is accepted on a first come first serve basis. Fees must be paid upon registration. No refunds of any kind will be given. A pro-rated credit may be issued during the 1st week of class only. Credits may only be processed through the office manager. Make-up classes are only for classes canceled by YMCA. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged. Classes fill up fast.
