  THE YOGA EXPERIENCE
 
Yoga classes are designed to: Relieve stress, increase energy, improve flexibility & strength, promote health & well being, integrate body, mind, & sport. Wear comfortable clothing, bring yoga mat (or blanket/pillow) Avoid eating two hours before class. Join us!

 Level I Yoga:  An introduction to the fundamentals of yoga for strength, flexibility and stress relief. This class is ideal for beginners & pregnant students!

This is the Chinese healing martial art system of exercise for physical, emotional, and mental well being. Its relaxing, slow motion movement patterns increase longevity while improving balance, stamina, circulation, concentration, and relaxation. Relieves stress, lowers blood pressure and improves health.

The YMCA of Cecil County hosts a wide variety of energizing & invigorating aerobic classes led by certified, knowledgeable instructors. YMCA Aerobics classes are for every level from beginning calisthenics & intermediate upper body workouts to advanced "boot camp-style" sessions.

PERSONAL TRAINING
Do you really want to look good for summer?
This is exactly what you have been looking for. Whether you are a beginner or a professional body builder, the YMCA's Certified Trainers are here to help! Maybe you just need to add a plyometric jump start to your same old routine or just need to get into a new one. Individuals are given 1 on 1 attention. Included in our training sessions are a combination of plyometric, circuit machines, and free weights (if appropriate).
   
Cardiovascular exercise is also an important component that receives attention as well. Whether general conditioning, rehabilitation, or sports conditioning, we cater to your fitness needs. Box Aerobics:  You will get a kick out of this workout for sure! Join this non- contact class with combination kicks and punches from martial arts and boxing with aerobic movement and drills. This class is sure to be a kick-in-your pants workout!!

Butts-n-Guts:  The name says it all. Don't let this 30 minute class fool you, it is tough and you will see results... This class is good for any level. This is what you call short and sweet!

Lunch Time Workout:  (NEW) No excuses now! A great lunchtime workout with the working person in mind. A 45 minute class of intense cardiovascular workout combined with strength training. Class maybe held inside or out, depending on weather. Will meet in the aerobics room.

Strength and Conditioning:  Gym style workout that will strengthen and shape your entire body using proven strength training methods. We'll use a variety of free weights, a resistance band, a step to use as a weight bench, and we'll also be doing various body weight exercises like push ups, dips, squats, etc. You will challenge all of your muscles. Class will end with a total body stretch.

Boot Camp:  It's that time of year again...!! Time to kick your workout into high gear
and get serious results! Class will consist of basic calisthenics, obstacle courses, plyometric drills, strength building activities, endurance building and an intense abdominal segment. This class will push you to your limits. You'll gain more endurance, and strength, and burn some serious calories!

Pump Up the Jam:  This is your hour of power! Strengthen all your major muscles in a high motivating environment with a high energy instructor and high energizing music.

Step & Sculpt:  Here is a great combination for a great workout. Step class with intervals of strength and conditioning exercises. Ending with lots of abdominal exercises and stretching.

Cross Training:  This is the ultimate circuit workout combining intervals of cardio drills and muscle conditioning drills. Enjoy the variety of the class that may use jump ropes, boxing drills, relay races and even a little healthy competition. These high-intensity classes will help you to burn between 400-600 calories. Suitable for all levels – but let your instructor know if this is your first time. This circuit class brings you the best drills for improving endurance, cardiovascular fitness and muscular strength.

Step Interval:  This step class will combine weight resistance intervals and blasts of
step moves that will strengthen your cardiovascular endurance. It will tone and define
your body giving you the look you have been waiting for.

Senior Fit:  A total body workout for active seniors. Senior Fit is a combination of aerobic, flexibility, and strength training all done in a fun-filled environment. The exercises are designed to increase flexibility, joint stability, balance, coordination, agility, muscular strength and cardiovascular endurance. This class is broken into two 30 minutes segments of cardio and strength.
       
Dates: April 28-June 16*, 2008 Monday & Wednesday 8:00 - 9:00 AM

All programs have a minimum enrollment and registration is accepted on a first come/first serve basis. Fees must be paid upon registration. Two or three day classes cannot be discounted.

No refunds of any kind will be given. A pro-rated credit may be issued during the 1st week of class only. Credits may only be processed through the office manager.

       Tumbling Tykes...      

An introduction to tumbling. This interactive movement class features 1/2 hour of structured tumbling moves featuring the balance beam, springboard, and parachute activities. The other 1/2 hour of the class will feature music and fun through movement and positive reinforcement.

For ages 3-4 years of age.

Maximum enrollment 15.
